Flying Dutchman Burger Recipe


Ingredients:


4 beef patties 

15 ml sunflower oil

2 crushed garlic cloves

2 onions, thickly sliced I used the midsections 

8 slices of cheddar cheese 

3 deseeded red fresh chillies

2 tsp mixed herbs

1 1/2 tbsp Hungry Co. harissa paste

3 tbsp mayonnaise 

4 cocktail gherkins, finely chopped

Salt and pepper



Directions:


1. Heat the oil in a pan, fry your onion buns, add some salt. 5 minutes on both sides and set aside 

2. Fry your beef patties, add 1 teaspoon of harissa paste on the raw side and spread evenly

3. Flip over and add slices of cheese on top of half the patties.

4. Add the fried onion on top of the cheese and flip it over to refry in the harissa infused oil 

5. Assemble the patties  to create a double burger. Onion, cheese, patty, patty, cheese , onion. 

6. MAKE THE SPREAD: In a small bowl, mix together the cocktail gherkins, mayonnaise, harissa paste, lemon juice, red chillies, garlic, mixed herbs, salt and pepper. 

7. Serve with the spread to enjoy warm!
